PURPOSE: A side openable coffin and a grave installing method using the same are provided to enhance safety and reduce installing costs since tombstone working as a side opening/closing plate is formed on both sides of a coffin used for installing grave. CONSTITUTION: A side openable coffin comprises opening and closing unit. The opening and closing unit is installed on both side of a coffin(2). The opening and closing unit comprises tombstone(3) working as a side opening/closing plate, protrusions(5), and a floor filler(7). The protrusion is installed on a position separated from both inner edges of the coffin by the thickness of the tombstone. The floor filler is installed on the inner floor between the protrusions of the coffin by a given thickness.
