Disclosed are imidazoquinolines represented by general formula (I), such as methyl 2-(4-((3-(4-amino-2-butyl-1H-imidazo[4,5-c]quinolin-1-yl)propylamino)methyl)phenyl)acetate, or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. Also discloses is the use of the compounds of formula (I) for treating allergic or viral diseases or cancers or for use in treating asthma, COPD, allergic rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis, atopic dennatitis, cancer, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, HIV, HPV, bacterial infections and dennatosis, as well as diseases in which modulation of TLR7 activity is beneficial.
