An isolated human binding molecule capable of recognizing and binding to an epitope in the HA2 subunit of the influenza haemagglutinin protein (HA), characterized in that said binding molecule has neutralizing activity against an influenza virus comprising HA of the H5 subtype, such as H5N1, H5N2, H5N8, and H5N9, and in that said binding molecule comprises the VH germline VH1-69.
