<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a feeding method of material wood to a veneer lathe, which is excellent in efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: At a front position of the veneer lathe C, a material wood centering apparatus A, including a material wood supporting member 1, an elevating operation mechanism 2, a camera 3, and a control mechanism (4) or the like, which works as an image processing mechanism as well, and a material wood feeding apparatus B, equipped with a gripping-feeding mechanism b1 including a gripping member 5, a holding member 8, a swinging beam 10, and a driving source 15 and so forth, and a stretching operation mechanism (b2) for the gripping member, are installed side by side. The heights of the material wood supporting members 1 on the right and the left are adjusted in advance through the elevating operation mechanism 2 in such a manner that the rotating axis H of the material wood G which has been determined in the material wood centering apparatus A may become in parallel with the stretching direction f2 of the gripping member 5. Then, the material wood G is gripped by the gripping-feeding mechanism b1. Then, the stretching amounts of the gripping members 5 on the right and the left are adjusted through the stretching operation mechanism (b2) in such a manner the rotating axis H of the material wood G after being fed may agree with the central axis k of a spindle 16 at a proper timing during a period until the feeding of the gripped material wood G to the position of the spindle 16 is completed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
