<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel nozzle with a central body cooling system. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel nozzle for a turbine engine includes a cooling shroud located at a downstream end of the fuel nozzle to help cooling of the downstream end of the fuel nozzle. The cooling shroud surrounds the exterior circumference of the downstream end of the fuel nozzle. The flow of air enters the cooling shroud, and travels in the downstream direction through a first pathway covering an exterior of the fuel nozzle. Then, the cooling air flow makes 180° turn, and travels in the upstream direction through a second pathway concentrically formed at an outer side of the first pathway. The flow of air then leaves the upstream end of the cooling shroud, and enters the interior of the fuel nozzle. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
