<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium cassette formed with consideration given to separation accuracy of a medium in the constitution having an upper mounting part, a lower mounting part and a separation part. <P>SOLUTION: The medium cassette (5) includes: the lower mounting part 6; the upper mounting part 11 which can be switched between a first position on the medium (P) feeding direction upstream side and a second position on the downstream side; a common separation part (7) arranged in the lower mounting part 6 to separate the mediums (P1, P2); protruding parts 11a, 11a... arranged in the upper mounting part 11 to be protruded to the feeding direction downstream side; and supporting parts 6a, 6a... arranged in the lower mounting part 6 to support the protruding parts 11a, 11a... when the upper mounting part 11 is in the second position.
