The system has contraction chuck (4) with retainer connecting piece (10) for clamping a contraction spindle retainer. The connecting piece is provided with receiving bore (12) in which a tool shank (28) is clamped. A threaded bore (20) is formed in wall (18) of connecting piece such that axes (24,26) of threaded bore and chuck are intersected with each other. The tool shank is formed with abutment surface (32) for stop screw (22) which is inserted in threaded bore.
