<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection type video display device, in which a bladeless air blower assembly is used to effectively cool the center portion of a light transmitting face in an optical component such as a liquid crystal panel and polarizer and also to cool the whole light transmitting face uniformly. <P>SOLUTION: A projection type video display device is provided with a cooling system for cooling an optical component constituting a liquid crystal light valve 30 which modulates light from a light source lamp. Also, a bladeless air blower assembly 70 is provided which can blow cooling air perpendicularly to a light transmitting face of the optical component constituting the liquid crystal light valve 30 without adversely affecting light transmission. Specifically, the bladeless air blower assembly 70 comprises: an annular duct 72 taking air inside or outside of the air blower assembly as primary air; a central opening 73 formed on the inner peripheral side of the annular duct 72; and an annular nozzle 74 opening to a side face of the annular duct 72 so as to induce air of the central opening 73. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
