<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of evaluating inter-electrode water movement of a fuel battery that can accurately and discriminatingly evaluate water movement by electroosmosis and water movement by diffusion. <P>SOLUTION: The method of evaluating the inter-electrode water movement of the fuel battery includes virtually sectioning a plane in a film thickness direction into meshed small areas 46 and computing and storing a film water content λi,j, a current density Ii,j, an in-film water diffusion count Di,j, and an electroosmosis coefficient ndi,j with respect to each of the sectioned small areas 46 (S10-S18); and calculating water movement amounts in the film thickness direction from those λi,j, Ii,j, Di,j, ndi,j according to predetermined formulas discriminatingly between the water movement by diffusion and water movement by electroosmosis. The in-film water diffusion count Di,j, and electroosmosis coefficient ndi,j are calculated from the film water content λi,j according to predefined functions, and a film water content gradient gradλi,j used for diffusion water movement operation is found from a difference in film water content λi,j between small areas 46 adjoining each other in the film thickness direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
