<p>The invention relates to a seat (1) that is convertible into a bed, in particular a sofa bed, comprising a base (2), a first bed frame (3) arranged horizontally and forming a seat portion, a second bed frame (4) forming a backrest, and an unfolding/folding mechanism (5) provided between the base (2), the first bed frame (3), and the second bed frame (4), such that said second bed frame (4) can be positioned either according to an upward and backward orientation, at a substantially right angle relative to the first bed frame (3), or horizontally, in alignment with said first bed frame (3). The unfolding/folding mechanism (5) is configured to translate the first bed frame (3) forward while maintaining the latter in the horizontal position, said forward translation resulting in the forward translation of the second bed frame (4) concomitantly with that of the first bed frame (3), and in the backward pivotal movement of said second bed frame (4) until the horizontal position is reached, and conversely upon the backward translation of said first bed frame (3).</p> |
