The clip (1) has a clamping section (5) and a cover section (6) with circular segment-shaped cross-sections with preset diameters (16, 18) and preset wall thicknesses (17, 19), respectively. The diameter of the cover section is larger than the diameter of the clamping section. The wall thickness of the cover section is smaller than the wall thickness of the clamping section. The cover section covers a portion of a middle area of a roll base body and hairs rolled on the base body. The cover section is overlapped with a portion of the clamping section. An independent claim is also included for a hair curler including a roll base body.
