<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas cock which has advantages such as reduction of a sliding operation force, smoothness of rotation and improvement in durability in addition to improvement in airtightness. <P>SOLUTION: On the outer sliding surface 25 of a plug body 20, a film 30, which is 1-4 μm thick and made of a solid lubricant, is formed as a printing pattern distributed on the surface. The film 30 consists of solid patterns with which the film is formed on a whole surface and a distribution pattern with which the film is formed in a distributed state. The solid patterns are formed at a part 31 along the upper end edge and a part 33 along the lower end edge of an outer peripheral surface 25 and the surrounding part 32 of a through-hole 21 in lateral direction. The distribution pattern is formed on the whole surface of the other part 34 of the outer peripheral surface 25. The distribution pattern is of a honeycomb shape of a hexagonal mesh shape, the linear part of the outer shell of the hexagon is a projection, and the inner hexagonal part is a recessed part.
