BACKLIGHT MODULE DRIVEN BY ALTERNATE BACKLIGHT AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY

A backlight module (10) and a liquid crystal display (20) are provided, which drive light emitting diodes (LEDs) (32) by an alternate control method. Two groups of LEDs (32) are respectively driven in an alternate manner by using two converters (26, 28), so that the two groups of LEDs (32) are turned on in turn in the same switching period, and therefore respectively have a half working period in a closed state. Since each group of LEDs (32) have a half working period in a closed state in the same switching period, the problem of excess temperature caused by lighting all LEDs (32) at the same time can be efficiently reduced, so as to efficiently reduce the heat produced during the lighting process of the LEDs (32).
