<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an onboard equipment control system which can enhance convenience of a user by maintaining the operation of onboard equipment without impairing crime prevention when a user leaves a vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: The system includes an onboard device mounted on a vehicle and a portable machine carried by a user. The onboard device transmits a mode transition signal containing the information of transition to the operation continuation mode and operation continuation time through radio wave with a first frequency band while controlling the execution of operation corresponding to an operation continuation mode in specified onboard equipment when determining the establishment of transition conditions to an operation continuation mode on the basis of a state related to vehicle traveling on instruction of the transition to an operation continuation mode for continuing predetermined operation of specified onboard equipment through user's operation input.
