<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device with which both of high luminance and long life are achieved. <P>SOLUTION: The light source device 10 is configured to include a plurality of solid light sources 24 generating excitation light, a light condensation optical system 40 for condensing the excitation light from the plurality of solid light sources 24 at a prescribed light condensation position, and a fluorescent light generation unit located near the light condensation position and having a fluorescent light layer 54 for generating fluorescent light from a part or whole of the excitation light from the light condensation optical system 40. The fluorescent light generation unit comprises a rotating plate 50 that can be rotated around a prescribed rotation shaft 60ax by a first driving device 60, and movable in a prescribed plane by a second driving device 70.
