<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight device capable of supporting stably a diffusion plate superior in optical characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: The backlight device, arranged on the rear side of a liquid crystal panel 8, is provided with a case 3 having a linear light source 2 arranged, a diffusion plate 6A which is arranged between the linear light source 2 and the liquid crystal panel 8, diffuses the light entered from an incident face on the linear light source 2 side, and emits it from an emitting face on the liquid crystal panel 8 side, and a plurality of diffusion plate support members 31B1-31B6 which are installed in the case 3 and are in contact with the incident face on linear light source 2 side of the diffusion plate 6A, and support the diffusion plate 6A. The diffusion plate 6A has contact parts at positions corresponding to the diffusion plate support members 31B1-31B6 of the incident face and has projections at the positions where the diffusion plate support members 31B1-31B6 are not in contact in the contact part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
