INK JET RECORDING METHOD, INK SET, AND RECORDED MATTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording method whereby an image with an excellent glitter can be recorded (formed) even on a recording medium of a low smoothness, and to provide an ink set, and a recorded matter on which an image with an excellent glitter is recorded.

SOLUTION: The ink jet recording method comprises discharging a water-based glitter ink having a glitter pigment dispersed therein by an ink jet method onto the recording medium. The ink jet recording method includes a foundation layer forming step of forming a foundation layer by giving a resin ink with a resin component dispersed or dissolved in a dispersion medium to at least a portion on the recording medium where the water-based glitter ink is discharged, and a glitter ink recording step of discharging the water-based glitter ink on the foundation layer. An arithmetic average roughness Ra of a surface of the recording medium on which the water-based glitter ink is discharged is not smaller than 20 μm.
