<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an indoor unit of an air conditioner capable of providing a comfortable air current to each of a plurality of persons in a room. <P>SOLUTION: The indoor unit 1000 of the air conditioner includes a left side lateral wind directing plate 4 and a right side lateral wind directing plate 5 for controlling the wind direction in the lateral direction, an upper left part vertical wind directing plate 6 and a lower left part vertical wind directing plate 7, and an upper right part vertical wind directing plate 8 and a lower right part vertical wind directing plate 9 for controlling the wind direction in the vertical direction, and a control device 100.
