<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner capable of reducing fluctuation of a main scanning magnification associated with an acceleration and deceleration of a motor occurring during an image forming process. <P>SOLUTION: An optical scanner 100 comprises: a light source 1 to emit a laser beam; light source drive means 31 to flicker the light source in accordance with image data in synchronism with a pixel clock; a rotating polygon mirror 3 to deflect and scan the laser beam emitted from the light source; a motor 9 to drive the rotating polygon mirror; and control means 30 for a drive control of the motor. The light source drive means corrects frequency of the pixel clock using motor control information generated by the control means with respect to an acceleration control, a deceleration control, or a constant speed control of a rotating speed of the motor. The light source drive means performs corrections to increase the frequency of the pixel clock when the motor control information indicates the acceleration control and to reduce the frequency when the motor control information indicates the deceleration control; and maintains the frequency of the pixel clock when the motor control information indicates the constant speed control. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
