<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for promoting a diver's awareness, for example, a transmission means for directly transmitting an alarm and evacuation instructions from an underwater positioning system, in underwater work utilizing the underwater positioning system. <P>SOLUTION: An underwater work management device is the underwater positioning system in which ultrasonic waves emitted from a transducer 12 provided in a ship 11 are received by a transponder 14 carried by the diver 13, in which an ultrasonic signal corresponding to the received signal is emitted, and in which the emitted ultrasonic signal is received by the transducer provided in the ship, so that a position of the transponder carried by the diver is measured.
