<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner that achieves a stable operation at a low cost from the initial stage of the drive of an oscillating mirror to the steady state for performing a low-jitter operation, and an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A sensor signal output from an optical sensor 51 is input into a variable smoothing circuit 52. In the initial stage of the drive of an oscillating mirror 21, only a low frequency component is passed and input into a comparator 53, whereas in the steady state for performing a low-jitter operation, property of the variable smoothing circuit 52 is changed so that a high frequency component is also passed and input into the comparator 53. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
