PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fabric for a highly stretchable binding tape having binding and protective functions and capable of being easily cut by hand, and the binding tape.

SOLUTION: A binding tape 10 comprises: a base material 11; a hot-melt film 12 bonded to a rear face of the base material 11 with which an outer peripheral surface of an electric wire bundle W is in contact; an adhesive layer 13 formed on a rear face of the hot-melt film 12. The base material 11 consists of a piece of fabric 20 which is a warp-knitted weft-inserted fabric using a warp 21 made of polyester fiber and a weft 22 made of nylon fiber. The warp 21 is 10-100 decitex in thickness. The weft 22 has 5.2-7.8 gf/decitex of tensile strength, 420-620 kgf/mm2 of Young's modulus and 2100 decitex or more of thickness.
