<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an audio output device capable of conducting a performance test with high reliability. <P>SOLUTION: The audio output device includes a power amplifier which generates a speaker driving signal by amplifying an audio signal and a control part having an amplifier protection processing function which restricts or stops operation of the power amplifier under abnormal conditions.
