<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer capable of decreasing an occurrence of such a situation that a difference between the amount paid with electric money for printing and the amount to the printing result is not settled. <P>SOLUTION: An accounting section 13 calculates a charged amount based on printing conditions and charges the calculated charged amount to a card 19 by a card reader 18. When finishing the charging, a job control section 14 starts a printing job to print pages till a previous page of the last page. When image data of the last page is generated and a cumulative amount is determined, if the cumulative amount is less than the charged amount, the job control section stops printing before printing the last page. The accounting section 13 displays a message requesting to place the card 19 again on a UI control section 12. In response to the message, the card 19 is placed and the card information is accorded with each other, a refund process is performed.
