<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a convenient frozen food having excellent texture, taste and flavor, especially a frozen seasoning for Chazuke (boiled rice with tea poured on it), pickle, filling of rice ball and soup ingredients. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided a method for producing the frozen food to be thawed by pouring hot water or tea on the food and taken together with the hot water or the tea. The food is an assembly of ingredient pieces wherein at least one of longitudinal, lateral and height dimensions of the piece is ≤1 cm and the other two dimensions are ≤4 cm, the total salt content of the ingredient is 5-10 wet wt.%, the total weight of the ingredient is 5-30 g, and the assembly is produced by adding 0.3-1.5% of a thickening component based on the total weight and freezing in an integrated state.
