<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for facilitating electronic commerce by safely supplying certificate related and other services including authorization and assurance of certificate. <P>SOLUTION: In the system and the method, the service is supplied with a square trust model. The square trust model includes a buyer (106), in other words, a signing customer and a seller (108), in other words, a credit customer. The buyer and the seller participate in online transaction. The buyer is a customer of a first financial institution (102), in other words, an issuing concern, and a certification authority for issuing a hardware key, a private key related to the hardware key and a signed digital certificate.
