<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problems in a conventional mobile robot that, in a robot of a type of vibrating a bristle bundle and using the force of its restoration as the driving force, the moving speed of the robot is low and speed-up is difficult, and in a robot of a type of using a torque of a rotor as the driving force, a device structure becomes complex. <P>SOLUTION: The mobile robot R1 includes: a forehand body 1 and a rearward body 2 that are arranged in a line longitudinally; and a driving force imparting means 3 that causes the forehand body 1 and the rearward body 2 to come close to and separate from each other. Also, on outer circumferential surfaces of the forehand body 1 and the rearward body 2, a large number of driving outer bristles 4 are provided which are elastic and inclined rearward.
