<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus that can make the supervision of operation and maintenance easier upon treating flyash and dust present in a combustion gas extracted from a cement kiln, and can make the installation area thereof smaller. <P>SOLUTION: The method of treating flyash and/or dust present in a combustion gas extracted from a cement kiln, comprising introducing wastewater (a filtrate) L1 generated upon water-washing flyash and/or dust present in a combustion gas extracted from a kiln-exhaust flow path starting from the tail end of the cement kiln up to the lowermost-stage cyclone into an ion exchange resin 31, and removing calcium from the wastewater by virtue of the ion exchange resin 31, is characterized by further subjecting the wastewater having been removed of calcium to a wastewater treatment. Slurry wherein the flyash and/or the dust are dissolved is allowed to contact a SO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>gas and/or a CO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>gas and is subsequently subjected to solid/liquid separation to obtain a filtrate, which filtrate may be introduced into the ion exchange resin 31 as well, whereupon the exhaust coming out of the cement kiln and/or exhaust coming out of a chlorine bypass system may be used as well.
