<p>Disclosed is a process for enhanced scrubbing of the filter material layer (5) of a filter at the liquid surface, wherein while the filter is being cleaned, the liquid surface is kept at a certain level in the filter material layer (5) by feeding water to or discharging water from the filter, and air is passed through the filter material layer (5) from below the bottom of the filter upwards, so as to scrub, with the liquid surface disturbed intensively by the air, the surface of the filter materials the liquid surface can reach, so that the sludge attached to the surface of the filter materials is completely stripped off, and then discharged with the water flow.</p> |
