The present invention relates to an air supply apparatus (102) for a two- stroke stratified scavenging combustion engine (100). The air supply apparatus includes an air cleaner (124) having an air outlet (130) and a partition (131), such that the partition substantially divides the air outlet into a first section (132) and a second section (134). The air supply apparatus further includes a carburetor (126). The carburetor includes a passage (136), a throttle valve (140) and a choke valve (138), such that the throttle valve and the choke valve substantially divides the passage into an air portion (142) and a mixture portion (144). Further, a first aperture in communication with the first section of the air outlet is provided corresponding to the air portion, and the second aperture in communication with the second section of the air outlet is provided corresponding to the mixture portion. Moreover, an area of the first section is different from that of the second section.
