<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet conveying device having no effect on an attitude of a sheet during conveyance, by configuring to prevent a rear end of the sheet from generating an impact noise at a step difference in the merging part of a conveying path, and to provide an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: In the device, a downstream end of a first conveying path has projecting guides 51a, 51a projecting from a symmetric position in the width direction perpendicular to the sheet conveying direction to a downstream side in the conveying direction. Further, a downstream end of a merging guide member 52 has a projecting guide 52a projecting from a position opposite to a center of the projecting guides 51a, 51a to a downstream side in the conveying direction. Accordingly, the impact noise is suppressed; by deflecting the center of the sheet which is abutted with the projecting guide 52a, while supporting both ends of the sheet with the projecting guides 51a, 51a; and by bringing both ends of the sheet into abutment with an upper end of the merging guide member 52, while supporting the center with the projecting guide 52a. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
