<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a friction type planetary power transmission capable of changing pushing force for pushing elements. <P>SOLUTION: In the friction type planetary power transmission, four planetary rollers 22A-22D are arranged on the circumference of a sun roller 16 so as to keep in contact with the sun roller 16, and a ring 28 is arranged on the circumference of the planetary rollers. Four planetary rollers are supported by a carrier so as to take first arrangement where contacts 36A-36D with the ring 28 become a square 38 and second arrangement with the ring 28 where contacts 40A-40D become a rectangle 42. The first square arrangement has a larger amount of deformation of the ring rather than the first rectangle arrangement, and force (pushing force) of the ring acted on the planetary roller becomes larger.
