The present invention relates to an explosion-proof, compound electric motor comprising: a main body shaped as a containment body defining an internal space with the axial end being opened; a terminal box shaped as a containment body defining an internal space in which a terminal cable is positioned from the outside with the axial end of the terminal box being opened and disposed at a position facing the axial end of the main body; and a middle plate disposed between the terminal box and the ends of the main body so as to connect the terminal box with the ends of the main body facing each other by means of an additional coupling member, and having a terminal insertion hole formed at the middle plate so that one end of the terminal cable penetrates the main body.
