A resistance detection device and a method thereof are provided, which relate to the circuit technical field. The device comprises reference resistance (101) and a resistance detection circuit (102). The resistance detection circuit (102) is used for generating a reference current related to the reference resistance (101) and a follow current related to resistance under test (103), and outputting the proportional relationship (105) between the reference current and the follow current, in order to acquire the value of the resistance under test (103) based on the proportional relationship (105) and the value of the reference resistance (101). The resistance under test (103) on a chip (104) is detected through the reference resistance (101) and the resistance detection circuit (102), and the actual value of the resistance under test (103) can be acquired accurately based on the output proportional relationship (105) and the value of the reference resistance (101), so that the variation of the actual value relative to its nominal value is known, and further the relative variation of any other resistance of the same type on the chip (104) can be known. |
