A riding toy provides a spin-out feature. The riding toy includes a frame, a steerable front wheel mounted to the frame and a rear wheel mounted to the frame. A rear carriage is pivotally attached to the frame so as to pivot about a generally horizontal axis. A caster is mounted to the rear carriage so as to pivot about a generally vertical axis. A lever is pivotally attached to the frame. A link has a leading end pivotally connected to the lever and a trailing end pivotally connected to the rear carriage. As a result, the riding toy may be changed from a traditional configuration, where the rear wheel of the riding toy contacts a riding surface upon which the riding toy is being ridden, to a spin-out configuration, where the caster lifts the rear wheel of the riding toy off of the riding surface, by pulling the lever. |
