<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device which comprises a movable shading hood and can properly control luminance according to brightness around a screen and to provide a control method of the display device. <P>SOLUTION: A display device comprises: a display screen part for displaying an image; a shading hood which protrudes toward the front of the display screen part to control incidence of external light on the display screen part, and which is movably attached to the display screen part through mechanism which makes protrusion amount toward the front of the display screen part variable; a protrusion amount detection part for detecting the protrusion amount of the shading hood; and a control part for controlling luminance of the display screen part according to the protrusion amount of the shading hood detected by the protrusion amount detection part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
