<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester cord for reinforcing a transmission belt, excellent in fittability of a belt, tensile and dimensional stability, and stretchability, capable of reducing energy loss and being preferably used for a transmission belt, in particular, a snap-on belt. <P>SOLUTION: A polyester cord for reinforcing a transmission belt comprises a polyethylene terephthalate fiber in which a main repeating unit is composed of an ethylene terephthalate of 90 mol% or more, the polyester code simultaneously meeting the following requirements: (A) a strength is 4.0 to 8.0 cN/dtex; (B) a breaking elongation is 15 to 50%; (C) an elongation under stress of 2 cN/dtex is 5.0 to 10.0%; (D) an initial elastic modulus is 50 to 70 cN/dtex; and (E) a dry heat shrinkage at 150°C is 0.1 to 3.0%. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
