<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbon fiber structure composed of a C/C composite material having high strength and high heat resistance. <P>SOLUTION: The carbon fiber structure 100 includes a carbon fiber-reinforced carbon composite material containing carbon fibers 1 and a carbonaceous matrix 2. The carbon fibers 1 are configured by substantially linear fibers. The carbon fibers 1 form thin piece bodies 3 in which a longitudinal direction of the carbon fiber 1 is oriented in parallel to the surface direction of the carbon fiber structure 100 within the carbonaceous matrix 2.
