<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a computer retrieve a document including non-Roman alphabet characters. <P>SOLUTION: The computer executes a step for giving the pronunciation of a desired non-Roman alphabet character, a step for giving at least one association word or phrase that a user associates from the desired non-Roman alphabet character, a step for retrieving from an association database one or more candidate characters whose pronunciation coincides with the given pronunciation and which are related to at least one association word or phrase, a step for giving an additional association word or phrase in the case that the number of the candidate characters exceed one, and repeating a step for performing retrieval until only one candidate character is retrieved, a step for executing retrieval about a document that can include only one candidate character, and a step for consecutively returning to the step for giving pronunciation in order to retrieve an additional candidate character for an additional predetermined non-Roman alphabet character. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
