<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mesa type AT-cut crystal vibration piece in which the generation of unnecessary vibration is suppressed by setting an appropriate value for the size of a vibration part and the degradation of the device characteristics is prevented. <P>SOLUTION: A mesa type AT-cut crystal vibration piece (30) has a rectangular excitation part (31) and an excitation peripheral part (32), which is formed on the periphery of the excitation part and the thickness of which is thinner than that of the excitation part, and vibrates at 38.400 MHz. The height h (μm) of a level difference between the excitation part and the excitation peripheral part satisfies the formula (1), h=(0.2×Mx)-143, when a length along the x-axis in the crystallographic axes of the excitation part is set as Mx (μm). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
