<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hermetic compressor capable of reducing an amount of a lubricating oil inhaled in a cylinder and enhancing the lubricity of a piston sliding surface, and to provide a refrigerator using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The hermetic compressor includes a piston housing a motor element and a compression element in a hermetic container and performing reciprocating motion in a cylinder, a crank shaft connected to the piston and a frame having a bearing journaling the crank shaft.
