<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce electricity consumption while avoiding malfunctions of an intermediate accessory and a camera system. <P>SOLUTION: An intermediate accessory 105 comprises: information processing means 106 which performs a prescribed processing of information received from one of a camera 109 and an interchangeable lens 101 and transmits processed information to the other; a first communication path to enable the camera and the interchangeable lens to communicate without involving the information processing means; a second communication path to make the camera and the interchangeable lens communicate through the information processing means; and switching means 103 to switch between a first connection state where the first information path is connected and the second information path is cut off, and a second connection state where the second information path is connected and the first information path is cut off. The intermediate accessory sets the second communication state through the switching means and, when lens identification information obtained from the interchangeable lens indicates a specific interchangeable lens which does not require the prescribed processing, sets the first connection state through the switching means and shifts to an operation restriction state. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
