<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a red color film having high lightness and an enhanced contrast ratio in a front view, preventing deposition of a diketopyrrolopyrrole red pigment, which is prepared in a fine particulate state, as crystals on a color pixel surface and/or on a glass substrate in a film forming step at a temperature of 180°C or higher, to provide a red color composition suitably used for formation of the red color film, and to provide a color filter using the red color film. <P>SOLUTION: The red color film comprises a red color composition containing a diketopyrrolopyrrole red pigment having an average primary particle diameter of 5 nm to 70 nm and a thermoplastic resin and is formed at a temperature of 180°C or higher. The surface of the color film has a content of a chlorine element by 0.1 to 14.0 when the amount of a carbon element is represented by 100.
