Provided is an edge-light type lighting apparatus, wherein adverse effects due to noise and the amount of wires are reduced, by shortening the length of power supplying wires for supplying power to the light sources. The lighting apparatus (20) comprises: a chassis plate (22) that is roughly square-shaped in planar view; edge-light type light sources (28) arranged along at least one side-face of the chassis plate (22) and along a side-face that interests at right angles with the one side-face; a power supplying means (30) for supplying power to the light sources (28); and power supplying wiring for electrically connecting the light sources (28) and the power supplying means (30). At least a portion of the power supplying wiring is composed of bridging wires (33ac, 33bd), which connect the light sources (28) arranged along the one side-face of the chassis plate (22) and the light sources (28) arranged along the side-face that interests at right angles with the one side-face.
