PURPOSE: A digital content transaction system based on API(Application Programming Interface) and method thereof are provided to promote the purchase of paid applications by extracting transaction target content data and DRM(Digital Rights Management) data. CONSTITUTION: A relay server registers the information of sales target content(S110). The relay server confirms a registration state of purchase target content(S125). A purchase portable terminal installs the received content data and DRM data(S140). The purchase portable terminal eliminates the DRM data and the content(S150). The relay server registers sales completion information for the content into a transaction information database(S160).
