METHOD FOR PRODUCING PHYTIC ACID DERIVATIVE USEFUL AS SURFACTANT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a phosphoric ester surfactant not requiring capture of by-products while using a phytic acid that is non-toxic natural resources.

SOLUTION: A phytic acid epoxide adduct including a phosphate group of a phytic acid added with an epoxide can be obtained by allowing the phytic acid to react with the epoxide that has an alkyl group having 10-20 carbon atoms in an aprotic polar solvent in the presence of tertiary amines. The obtained phytic acid epoxide adduct forms micelles at a low concentration and exhibits an excellent cleaning ability. In addition, the phytic acid epoxide adduct can strongly absorb and capture dilute metal ions in water.
