<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently shielding an X-ray that is generated in accordance with the irradiation of an electron beam without depending upon an increase in the thickness of a shield layer of a vacuum tank wall surface. <P>SOLUTION: The electron beam irradiation device for irradiating a metal strip with an electron beam by a plurality of electron guns installed toward the metal strip passed through inside a vacuum tank includes at least one partition wall having an X-ray absorbing power, which extends in the direction of traversing the transportation direction of the metal strip to divide an electron beam irradiation region. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
