The control (1) has a handle (2) i.e. selective lever, cooperating with a pivoting unit (3) such that the handle is pivotable in a direction. The handle is pluggably arranged at the pivoting unit by a detent and/or snap connection (4) i.e. annular snap connection (7). The annular snap connection is attached at the handle. Electrical plug connections (8, 9) are arranged at the handle and the pivoting unit for electrically contacting the handle with the pivoting unit. The plug connections are designed as electronic interfaces e.g. Controller area network (CAN)interfaces. An independent claim is also included for a shift-by-wire-switching device comprising a control.
