<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection device for a cutting edge of a cutting device suitably used for manufacture of a chip capacitor and a chip resistance, and an aluminum foil for a laminate electrode in a secondary battery, and so on. <P>SOLUTION: Light from a light source 20 is moved crossing and irradiating a first grinding plane 11, a second grinding plane 12 and a third grinding plane 13 of a side face of the cutting edge which is arranged upright. Then, in the side with respect to the cutting edge, a CCD camera 22 with an optical axis arranged horizontally detects reflected light from the respective grinding planes 11, 12 and 13 so as to detect the number of reflecting surfaces from peaks thereof, widths of the respective grinding planes from widths of the peaks, and angles of the grinding surfaces from angles at which the peaks appear, respectively.
