The invention relates to an ignition device (1) comprising a protective casing (2) for sealing between the ignition device (1) and a spark plug bore (4). The protective casing is disposed at least in a sub-region of the ignition device, and the protective casing (2) has at least one outer sealing element (21, 22, 23) for sealing on the spark plug bore (4). The protective casing (2) further comprises a ventilation channel (3) that connects a space (5) between the ignition device (1) and the spark plug bore (4) to an exterior (11). The ventilation channel (3) is equipped with a movable sealing lip (20) by means of which it can be opened and closed. An opening direction (A) of the sealing lip (20) is directed towards the exterior (11).
